Public schools

In Yellowknife, there are two public school boards in Yellowknife that include Yellowknife Education District No. 1 (yk1.nt.ca) and Yellowknife Catholic Schools (ycs.nt.ca) along with a French school.
Childcare
The Department of Education, Culture and Employment is responsible for licensing early learning and childcare programs in the NWT. They provide a comprehensive list of licensed providers at ece.gov.nt.ca/en/elcc/licensed-programs.

AURORA COLLEGE
- Aurora College delivers post-secondary programs and courses through a network of three regional campuses including one in Yellowknife. Aurora College has begun the journey to transform into a polytechnic university with the goal of opening in 2025.
